臺中榮民總醫院(臺中榮總)創立於1982年，是臺灣中部的公立醫學中心。全院員工共約6,000人，病床數1,600餘床，每日門診9,000餘人次。臺中榮總在各專業領域提供全方位的醫療服務。現任院長陳適安教授致力使臺中榮總成為一所著重尖端醫療、精準醫療的智慧醫院，並致力於提供優質醫療服務與醫療環境，造福病人及員工，打造幸福、暖心醫療圈。

Established in 1982, Taichung Veterans Hospital (TCVGH) is recognized as  public medical center in central Taiwan. As the only public medical center in central Taiwan, TCVGH is a trusted tertiary healthcare provider with over 1,600 beds and 6,000 employees, handling over 9,000 outpatient visits daily. TCVGH has built a reputation for its excellence in care by providing a comprehensive range of medical services in a variety of specialized fields. The present superintendent, Prof. Shih-An Chen, has been dedicated to developing the hospital into a leading-edge smart healthcare facility, emphasizing on advanced medical technologies and precision medicine. Dr. Chen, along with all members of the hospital team provides high-quality medical services, while also building a comfortable and pleasant environment for both its patients and employees.

智慧醫療：

1987年起臺中榮總團隊開始建構電子醫療資訊系統。2009年本院實施電子病歷，並因為電子醫療資訊系統的表現，於2015年及2019年2度獲得財團法人醫院評鑑暨醫療品質策進會舉辦的國家醫療品質獎「智慧醫院全機構獎」。2020年成功將電子醫療資訊系統導入12家榮總分院。

Beginning in 1987, the team making up TCVGH’s Smart Healthcare program began creating the Electronic Health Information System (E-HIS). In 2009, TCVGH implement the use of electronic medical records. Due to the great success seen in the hospital-wide E-HIS, TCVGH earned the Smart Institution Award during the National Healthcare Quality Award ceremony organized by the Joint Commission of Taiwan in both 2015 and 2019. The excellent E-HIS was then successfully introduced into our 12 satellite Veteran Hospitals in the year 2020.

精準/再生醫療：

我們成立「再生醫療醫學中心」，研發新技術治療癌症及急重難罕疾病，透過基因檢測分析，以實證為基礎，量身打造個人化醫療與健康照護。並成立基因實驗室、幹細胞實驗室，具備CAR-T細胞療法執行能力的醫學中心。

TCVGH established the Center of Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine in order to develop new technology for the treatment of cancers, as well as acute, severe, difficult and rare diseases. Through evidence-based genetic testing and analysis, TCVGH provides tailor-made personalized medicine. Additionally, TCVGH has set up both a genetic laboratory and stem cell laboratory, thus making it one of the medical centers in Taiwan possessing the ability to provide chimeric antigen receptor T-cell CAR-T therapy.

尖端醫療：

臺中榮總在換心、換肝、內視鏡手術、運用手術導航及監測系統。心房顫動電燒及兒童介入性心導管手術，將達文西機械手臂常規運用於臨床，目前已是泌尿外科、大腸直腸外科及頭頸外科達文西機械手臂手術觀摩卓越中心。臺中榮總獲亞太風濕病聯盟認證為「亞太風濕病卓越中心」，獲國際糖尿病聯盟認證為「卓越糖尿病照護中心」。

TCVGH has achievements within the Taiwan medical society in the fields of heart and liver transplantation, endoscopic surgery, and surgical navigation and monitoring systems. Its catheter ablation for cardiac arrhythmia and children’s interventional cardiac catheterization treatments have established many ground-breaking procedures now. TCVGH initiated the routine clinical use of the Da Vinci robotic arm in Taiwan. Currently, TCVGH is the center of excellence for urology, colorectal surgery, head and neck surgery, as well as Da Vinci robotic arm surgery. TCVGH has received an award from the Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology as being a Center of Excellence, and has also been recognized as an International Diabetes Federation Centre of Excellence in Diabetes Care.

高階醫學影像中心：

2023年7月全新啟用「高階醫學影像中心」，配備2部高階磁振造影(1.5T MRI、3T MRI)，可依其病人需求特性安排，整合全身影像掃描，快速完成全身磁振造影檢查；1部「雙源CT掃描器」電腦斷層設備，影像解析度高、降低X光輻射量，並亦設置女性友善空間的乳房醫學影像檢查室，服務更加貼心且兼顧病人隱私。

In July 2023, the brand-new "Advanced Medical Imaging Center" was inaugurated, equipped with two state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging systems (1.5T MRI and 3T MRI). These cutting-edge technologies allow for personalized arrangements based on each patient's specific needs, facilitating comprehensive whole-body imaging scans and swift completion of full-body magnetic resonance imaging examinations.

In addition, the center is equipped with a "Dual-Source CT Scanner" computed tomography device, boasting high image resolution and minimal X-ray radiation exposure. Moreover, a breast medical imaging examination room has been thoughtfully designed to provide a female-friendly environment, ensuring services that are attentive to patients' needs and mindful of their privacy.

教學研究與行政：

臺中榮總通過醫師及醫事人員類教學醫院評鑑合格，每年訓練超過3,000人次，累計來自10所大學及119間醫院，並於2022年成為國立中興大學學士後醫學系的教學醫院。研究方面，與國立中興大學、陽明交通大學合作中央研究院、國家實驗研究院、國家衛生研究院等各大研究機構及各大學院校合作，持續推動臨床試驗及產官學發展。臺中榮總在2010年、2016年、2019年、2022年已獲得4次行政院「政府服務獎」肯定，致力提升服務品質。

TCVGH has received the Accreditation of Teaching Hospitals for Physicians and Medical Personnel. With an annual training capacity exceeding 3,000 participants, the hospital has accumulated trainees from 10 universities and 119 medical institutions. The facility also became the teaching hospital for the Post-Baccalaureate Medical School, National Chung Hsing University in the year 2022. In the realm of research, TCVGH has cooperated with National Chung Hsing University, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Academia Sinica, National Applied Research Laboratories, National Health Research Institutes and several major research institutions and universities, allowing us to continually conduct clinical trials and actively promote Industry-Government-Academy cooperation. TCVGH has received the Executive Yuan's "Government Service Award" in the years 2010, 2016, 2019 and 2022, and will continue to be enthusiastically committed to improving our quality of service.

國際醫療：

臺中榮總2007年成立「國際醫療中心」，每年提供外國人和遊客醫療服務。我們執行醫療合作計畫，並派遣醫療團至越南、泰國和諾魯共和國執行醫療任務。我們也為海外的臺灣民眾和來臺尋求尖端醫療的外國人提供緊急醫療救援服務。在國際交流計畫方面，我們與國際醫院合作，提供人員培訓、聯合舉辦研討會和簽署合作備忘錄。

The facility’s International Medical Service Center was established in 2007, and receives from foreign residents and travelers in Taiwan. TCVGH has executed medical cooperation programs and on an international level has sent medical mission teams to Vietnam, Thailand and the Republic of Nauru. Emergency medical assistance is also provided to overseas Taiwanese and foreigners who come to Taiwan seeking both emergency and cutting-edge medical treatments. For purposes of global exchange activities, TCVGH collaborate with international hospitals to provide personnel training, co-organized seminars and signing Memorandums of Understanding.
